AIGA New Orleans is very excited to welcome our distinguished judges for the 2009 AIGA New Orleans Design Awards & Exhibition. Michael Gericke is a partner in the New York office of Pentagram. Adam Larson runs Adam+Company in Boston, MA. Fore more information, please see the brief bios below.

Michael Gericke

Michael Gericke is a Partner in Pentagram's New York office and joined the firm in 1985. He has been responsible for exhibitions, identity programs, posters, publications and environmental graphic programs for clients that include the American Museum of Natural History, Center for Architecture, the Museum of the City of New York, the Municipal Arts Society, the National Gallery of Art and the Skyscraper Museum. His recent projects include the design of the original Viewing Wall that surrounded Ground Zero, a major graphics program for Manhattan's PATH train terminal designed by Santiago Calatrava, the signage and wayfinding program for the World Financial Center, and the graphic programs for the Freedom Tower and Seven World Trade Center. He is currently responsible for the identity and graphics for the three new towers at the World Trade Center site designed by Norman Foster, Richard Rogers and Fumihiko Maki. Michael has also led the design team that recently redefined professional sports venues with the branding, wayfinding, exhibition and graphic system for the Arizona Cardinals NFL stadium. Additionally, he oversaw a new image and environmental graphics program for all embassies and consulates, worldwide, for the U.S. Department of State. Michael's images and programs are known for their simplicity and clarity, and often portray the essential qualities of the object or topic he is representing. He has received hundreds of accolades from design associations and museums. His identity, poster and three-dimensional work appears regularly in international design exhibitions.

Adam Larson

Adam Larson is a sought-after award-winning designer practicing in Boston. After ten years working for various design and advertising companies, he opened Adam&Co., a creative studio specializing in branding, packaging and identities. Adam's experience in design spans many disciplines, having worked with clients both big and small, on projects both big and small, across a variety of industries. He has had the great privilege of working with a number of world-class brands including Absolut, Estee Lauder, Johnson & Johnson, Proctor & Gamble, truth, Nike, Virgin, Coke, John Deere, Jack Daniels, MIT, Harvard, Fleetwood Mac, and Madonna. Adam is a practicing illustrator whose work has appeared on the pages of Time Out NY, Travel and Leisure, Lemon, Mojo, Men's Health, New York Magazine, ESPN, Technology Review, Print and many others. His work has been recognized for excellence by various publications and organizations including the Clio Awards, Cannes Lions, The Kelly Awards, D+AD, The Andy Awards, One Show, ADC, CA, Print, How, The Addys, American Illustration. He was twice nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on the truth campaign. Adam is also a contributing editor and art director for Lemon Magazine.
